Julep Introductory Maven Box Review + Giveaway

Hey beauties,

Julep was kind enough to send me an Introductory Maven Box for review and I chose "American Beauty" as I was already subscribed and receiving the "Classic with a Twist" subscription.

So as most of you know, a Julep Maven subscription is $19.99 per month and you receive at least 2 Julep Nail Vernis and an extra, which could be a cream or lotion. They even pack goodies in there sometimes, like candy or an extra polish. I think it's worth the $19.99. I find it to be loads of fun because you start off by taking a style quiz, then you receive your style profile and results. There are different style profiles. American Beauty, Boho Glam, Bombshell, Classic with a Twist and It Girl.

I chose the "American Beauty" Maven box and it included:

Julep - The Best Pedi Creme Ever!
The description on the card says:
Exfoliates with alpha hydroxy acids, hydrates with shea butter and coconut oil, nourishes with Vitamin E. Apply nightly for noticeable results in 1 to 2 uses.

I've been using this product and I simply love it. I've noticed visible change in my feet. Usually my feet get dry because I suffer from Eczema and The Best Pedi Creme Ever! has helped moisturize my feet plenty. I will definitely keep using it.

Eva - Julep Nail Vernis
Juicy raspberry creme. The right balance of sophisticated and whimsy.

RENEE - Julep Nail Vernis
Spring lilac creme. Surprisingly ladylike.

I also received a set of toe separators for pedicures. Very cute extra! Everyone loves goodies!

Now for the swatches...please excuse the fact that I did them on nail wheels. I've been very ill lately and my nails have been chipping/breaking non-stop. I have terrible arthritis and a vitamin deficiency so my nails get very soft at times.

(L - R) Renee - Eva

I'll start with Renee... I love the color but the brush was being difficult. The formula was super thick and kept bubbling up every single time I applied it to the nail. It was driving me insane. This color was one of the most difficult that I've ever applied. I applied three coats.

Eva on the other hand was very easy to apply. The formula went on smoothly like butter and the color is absolutely fabulous. It's my favorite of the two. I used three coats on the nail wheel as well. Two would've been sufficient enough but I wanted it to be darker.

All in all, I think the Julep Maven subscription boxes are pretty much worth it. I think that maybe the polish (Renee) that I had a hard time with may have just been a dud and sometimes that happens but I like the formula.
