Essie "No More Film" Swatches

Today I went out and purchased a new nail color from the Essie 2012 Resort Collection. It's called "No More Film" and it's a dark purple that's rich in color. It's my favorite color from the collection and it's why I decided to buy it.

Here is the first photo and it was taken with no flash. As you can see it's such a beautiful color. It was very easy to apply and I only used two coats.

Here is "No More Film" with flash.

And finally, the last photo is a closeup with flash.

To me this color has a hint of dark blue. I love it though because I'm not really into that many bluish colors, but it looks so vamp.

What do you guys think about this color? Please comment below!

Giveaway (Coming April 1st) + Updates...

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to give you a few updates and thank you very much for your patience! I will be putting up the giveaway widget by Sunday night. I've been super busy lately planning my daughter's 4th Birthday party and gathering up some prizes. I've also been making changes to the blog because I had to move it over to a different Google account. Nothing will be changing with the URL or anything like that. I just wanted to have the blog on a separate email account, that way I don't confuse anything with my personal account, so I've been moving pictures, editing posts. It's A LOT of work, but I'm happy to do it. The pictures may not work today, don't worry! I'm just reorganizing everything! Things may look a little sloppy for it a bit but everything should be up and running by Sunday afternoon before I post the giveaway widget. Anyway, I'm going to my daughter's ballet/tap class tomorrow and then dropping her off at home to go shopping for her party stuff. These next 3 weeks are going to be hectic for me. The giveaway will run until the end of April that way everyone has an opportunity to enter and gain extra entries. I will also be posting pictures of the prizes. I'm really excited about it! I hope everyone enters and has a blast.

Thank you for your patience and I hope to speak to you soon!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Launches S/S 2012 Collection

Spring has sprung at OCC and hidden among the lilacs and pansies is a different shade of floral. Inspired by psychotropic and poisonous plants, this collection turns traditional spring pastels upside down, injecting them with hallucinatory notes of nearly-neon vibrancy. Mixed in are more subtle neutral lip shades, meant to be paired with a dizzying flash of color on the eyes, in this garden of earthly (and unearthly) delights.

Available 3/23/12 at and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics at 174 Ludlow Street, New York, NY 10002

A stunning new innovation in lip color, OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in color, Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment - a little goes a very, very long way! An intense yet featherweight layer of color that stands up to the scrutiny of Hi-Def Video and Digital Photography, without ever looking (or feeling!) heavy. Meant to be mixed, Lip Tar comes in concise array of colors for a limitless selection of shades made by you!
Like all of our products, OCC Lip Tar is 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free, and is also free of parabens and other harsh preservatives. A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, OCC Lip Tar feels as good on the lips as it looks!
DIRECTIONS: Apply the tiniest bead of Lip Tar with our #010 Precision Lip Brush for complete, opaque coverage, either mixed with other shades or on its own. Applying too much product can result in feathering outside the lipline, so remember: a little goes a very long way!

SRP: $14.00

A modern colour palette and formulation to match, OCC's professional quality nail lacquers are densely pigmented, quick-drying and super long lasting. Formulated with the Editorial Manicurist in mind, the result is lots of color using very little product for nails that are camera-ready just moments after the application. Available in Satin, Matte and Metallic texture and both Sheer and Opaque finishes.
SRP: $8.00

NARS Cosmetics Announces Andy Warhol Collection

Nars Cosmetics is taking the trend for artist collaborations to another level with the launch of an Andy Warhol-themed makeup line. The brand has previously dedicated a makeup collection to fashion muse Daphne Guinness -- who was a friend of the late artist -- and the upcoming line is said to be their largest collaboration to date. The collection, which has been created by the brand's founder François Nars under a license with The Andy Warhol Foundation, will be launched in the US this October and globally one month later.
According to WWD the limited edition collection will evoke the "cool, image-rich, character-laden world of Warhol," while beauty fans can expect novel packaging, formulas and colors from the line.
For a long time, beauty brands have been teaming up with contemporary artists, with recent examples including a limited edition nail and polish line for Dior by abstract artist Anselm Reyle and MAC's collaboration with Chinese photographer Chen Man.

Meanwhile, one of Warhol's greatest celebrity muses Marilyn Monroe is the source of inspiration for an upcoming beauty line for MAC Cosmetics set for release this October.

Beauty Tip - Matte Red Lipstick During the Day

Many women wear a bold lip in the evening, but if you want to try wearing red lipstick during the day here are some tips to pull it off.

1. Matte Red Lipstick - make sure if your using a matte red your face is mostly matte as well. You don't want to have a ton of glow all over your face while using such a bold color during the day. A hint of glow over the cheeks is fine, anywhere else will be too much.

2. Make sure the red isn't too bright, you don't want to wear a bright shade because once you're out in the sunlight the bright color will take too much energy from the rest of your look.

3. Make sure that everything else around your face is clean, you don't want a crazy hairstyle, too much jewelry. Keep it simple and sleek.

Hey everyone!

What can I say? My 2012 so far has been a whirlwind of emotions, disappointments and bad situations, but I'm here trying to push on because I am strong and as much as I'd like to give up at times, it just isn't an option. I have a little girl who is about to be 4 on April 21st and I want to be here for her as long as I can be. I decided to start blogging because I have a passion for blogs, beauty, art, fashion, design... anything creative really. I may not be great at it right now but I am trying. I won't be anyone else but me, I will not be ashamed of things that I've gone through or pretend that everything is fine and dandy all the time if it isn't. I want to be real. I have problems just like anyone else does and sometimes I do make mistakes. I get scared, I push people away and I say dumb things. Who doesn't? It's part of life. Live and learn. I'm always afraid that I will get hurt so I tend to just make up my mind about people and begin pushing them away before they even get the chance to get to know me. I want for my readers to be able to relate to me. I am a very good person who a lot of the time is misunderstood. I've been through hell and back, but hey! I'm here... give me some credit. I'm STILL fighting. I won't stop. Anyway, that was just something I wanted to get off of my chest... random... but the truth.

Moving on...

Even though the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012 have been extremely rocky for my family and I, somehow I've been winning tons of contests/giveaways. Maybe someone in a higher place is thinking, "Throw this girl a freakin' bone." So yeah, I've won several things. I enter for fun and if I don't win, I'm happy for whoever does. I do use everything that I win. I was lucky enough to win Miss Deena Diva's Ricky's NYC Mattese Elite Giveaway. I was so excited when I received her email notifying me that I had won. I took a photo of what she sent me.

Thank you so much Deena! I love every single item that I won and you're the best for including all of those extra goodies. If you'd like to check out Deena's blog, you can right here. Deena is so sweet, she even sent me a card and a video with a live showing of the drawing. You can check that out right here. Please check out Deena's blog, it's amazing! xo

Please remember my giveaway is really close! I am 7 followers away from reaching 50 and I will be giving some great stuff away! Spread the word!

Today I received the necklace and wristband I purchased from RAINN to show support and help out with the awareness of sexual assault. RAINN was kind enough to send me a letter as well. It made me so happy to help out and support this cause. Below are pictures of my letter, necklace and bracelet. If you'd like to show your support for the fight against sexual assault you can visit the RAINN store here. Thank you so much for reading and if you have any questions or comments please feel free.
